Where do the proceeds go?

Proceeds from this tour go to MassBike whose primary purposes are:

  • to serve and protect the interests of the bicycling public in Massachusetts,
  • to promote the bicycle as a healthy, enjoyable, efficient, and environment-friendly means of transportation and recreation,
  • to promote a physical geographic context and vehicular traffic environment that enhance these qualities and ensure the safety of transportation by bicycle, and to help more people adopt the bicycle for transportation and recreation.


What are the activities for the evening?
Evening activities will vary from live music to sing-along to dancing and even a campfire where you can try your hand at making s'mores. Or you can take a stroll around town or even turn in early.

Are riders bussed back to the start of the ride?
We have made arrangement for riders to leave their vehicles Curtis Middle School in Sudbury where the tour begins. Your registration packet will have a dashboard permit card. The Mass BikePike Tour cannot guarantee, nor can it assume responsibility for your vehicle.
There is also a train station in Concord.

Please contact us if you need your luggage transported from the station. Free transportation from Northampton to Concord will be available at the end of the ride. Please reserve a space prior to the ride.

What should I pack?
Helmets are required and you should also have a spare tube, tire tools and a patch kit. See the section ride planning on packing for a more complete list.

Can I rent a bicycle?
Bike rentals are not available from the tour organizers, but man local bike shops rent bikes. See MassBike’s web site for bike-rental listing, CLICK HERE.

What is the terrain?
The terrain in Massachusetts is quite varied, but you can always count on rolling hills. For those looking for a challenge, the longer rides will generally include some more significant climbs.
